The Heart Behind Our Finances
This week in our Off Ramps series, we discussed how our attitudes toward money can quietly lead us away from faith. Focusing on 1 Timothy 6:6–10, Charlie Loften explored Paul’s teaching on godliness and contentment, challenging us to consider what true “gain” really means in our lives. We looked at the difference between simply having resources and being content, and how the love of money—not money itself—can entangle us in all kinds of trouble. Through relatable stories and honest questions, the message invited us to reflect on whether our hearts are grateful and generous, or caught in comparison and desire for more. The practical takeaway was clear: contentment comes from seeing all we have as a gift from God and cultivating generosity, regardless of our financial situation. This conversation encourages each of us to examine how money shapes our priorities and invites us to seek a deeper sense of peace and purpose in our relationship with God. Take some time this week to reflect on where your true contentment comes from.
