Build Your House on the Rock
This week on Cultivate, we dove into the familiar parable of the wise and foolish builders from Matthew 7:24–27. Charlie Lofton and Abigail Boone explored how Jesus’ teaching at the end of the Sermon on the Mount isn’t just good advice, but a decisive invitation to build our lives on a solid foundation—by hearing His words and actually putting them into practice. We discussed how Jesus differentiates between simply liking His teachings and letting them shape our daily choices, especially when life’s storms come our way. Together, we considered what it really means to “storm-proof” your life and why Jesus’ authority matters for faith today. As we reflected on practical ways to let God’s truth shape our responses to challenges, we saw that thriving in faith isn’t about avoiding hard times, but about making sure we’re anchored on something truly lasting. Take some time this week to reflect—what foundation are you building your life on?
