This week on Cultivate, Charlie and Abigail work through the Parable of the Wedding Banquet in Matthew 22.

A king throws a wedding banquet for his son. The invited guests don't come. He sends more servants — some are ignored, some are killed. The king destroys the city. He opens the invitation to literally anyone off the street, good and bad. The hall fills up. Then he spots one man without wedding clothes and throws him out.

Charlie and Abigail slow down on that last detail — because if everyone was invited off the street with nothing, how did everyone else get in with the right clothes? The answer changes the whole frame of the parable. What makes you worthy to be at the banquet isn't what you bring. It's what the king provides.
